Symptoms
(5) Tics are often worse with anxiety or excitement, and better during focused activities. Tics can be small movements like blinking, facial grimacing, shrugging, and head or shoulder jerking, or more complex movements include sniffing/ touching objects, hopping, jumping, bending, or twisting. Simple vocal tics may include throat-clearing, sniffing, grunting, or barking. More complex vocal tics include coprolalia, uttering inappropriate words, or echolalia, repeating the words of others.
